Pennsylvania man charged with distributing bath salts

An Athens, Pennsylvania, man was charged in federal court Tuesday for distributing and intent to distribute bath salts after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations investigation. A grand jury in Scranton indicted Wyatt Robert Yanney, 24, for allegedly ordering and obtaining shipments of the synthetic misbranded drugs, commonly referred to as “bath salts” by mail from China in August 2015 for use and distribution in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, and in New York.

Jury finds Donahue guilty

Scranton resident Joseph Donahue faces up to 40 more years in prison after a jury found him guilty of fleeing with a stolen handgun rather than reporting for a 10-year prison sentence for bank and credit card fraud and money laundering. The jury deliberated for nearly three hours before dismissing Mr. Donahue’s claims that rancor from federal prosecutors and fears about not getting adequate medical care for cancer forced him to flee rather than surrendering on Jan. 4, 2011.
